We are pleased to announce that Piedmont Concrete Contractors was selected as the Design Assist partner for the Concrete Scopes on the new University of Virginia Hospital Expansion Project. We will be teaming with the project’s construction manager SKANSKA, architectural & engineering firm Perkins + Will and the University of Virginia Hospital to bring the project to a successful completion.

PCC Awarded JMU East Tower Job

Piedmont Concrete Contractors has been awarded the JMU East Tower Addition and Renovation – Concrete Package, which include concrete foundations, walls and slabs. This project is a 140,000 sq. ft. six-story addition. We look forward to another successful project with SKANSKA and James Madison University.

PCC Awarded Radford University Academic Building Project

Piedmont Concrete Contractors is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Cast-In-Place concrete package for the New Academic Building at Radford University. The new building will provide academic space consisting of classrooms, offices, laboratories, and student/faculty collaborative space for the College of Humanities and Behavior Sciences. Departments of the college that may be accommodated in the new building are Criminal Justice, Communications, Sociology, and Political Science. The new building will be located on the campus of Radford University in Radford, VA.

PCC Awarded JMU UREC Expansion

Piedmont Concrete has been awarded the Cast-in-Place Concrete Package for the 150,000 square foot addition to James Madison University’s Recreation Center, which consists of approximately 6,700 cubic yards of concrete and more than 300 tons of reinforcing steel. The contractor for the project is Kjellstrom + Lee.

Sysco VA Vehicle Maintenance Facility–Phase II Building Additions

As PCC successfully completes Phase 1 of the Sysco Virginia Vehicle Maintenance Facility, we have been awarded the Phase II Building Additions. The project consists of three significant additions to the existing plant as well as minor renovations in the existing facility. PCC is working for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company on this job.

JMU Grace Street Student Housing

PCC has been awarded the Grace Street Student Housing project at JMU. The project is a new 193,00 sq. foot dorm. Donley Construction will be the Construction Manager. This is PCC’s second major project at JMU.

UMW Campus Center

PCC is currently performing the structural concrete package for the new 123,000 SF UMW Campus Center. The project features a unique design and an aggressive construction schedule. Donley Construction is the Construction Manager for the project.

Lee Street Connective Elements

In April 2010, Piedmont Concrete Contractors was awarded a contract by the University of Virginia for the Lee Street Connective Elements project.  The project was awarded upon best technical proposal and price where Piedmont Concrete received a perfect score of 100 on the technical portion.
